Volunteers
If you would like to be part of a dynamic team of people who are making a difference in the lives of others, consider the opportunities we have available. At the Belleville Pregnancy and Family Care Centre we realize that the success we experience with the people we serve is directly related to our volunteer staff. The exceptional attitude of kindness and mercy, mixed together with a deep sense of dedication and commitment, has created for us a community of care-givers whose love for people changes lives.
Because of the nature of our ministry, most of our positions require a minimum commitment of at least one year. Another essential requirement is a recognition of the true intrinsic value of all human life. Some of our client-friends have heroically survived a complicated or destructive childhood or are currently living in a difficult situation. As care-givers we must be able to remain completely non-judgmental in our attitudes while at the same time being filled with hope and love.
Our centre is always looking for volunteers to aid the centre with various tasks. By having skilled volunteers in the centre on a regular basis, the centre is more capable of thriving and meeting the needs of our clients. Training is provided where a volunteer will have direct contact with clients.
Our volunteer opportunities include:
- Bakers
- Board Member
- Counting Crew
- Fundraising Committee
- Giving (financial, food, clothing, baby gifts)
- Grandmother's heart volunteers
- Newsletter Production Crew
- Other special committee work
- Prayer
- Promotions
- Special Events
- Volunteer in the centre: Peer Counsellor, Book Keeping, Program Facilitator, Clothing/Supplies, Administrative Assistant

Practicum Opportunities
We are privileged to partner with area colleges in providing practicum experiences for their students. These students give many hours of service in exchange for a unique learning opportunity with client contact. While many of these students stay on as volunteers, others take this valuable experience into their careers. Seeing lives changed by offering help during a crisis time is a life enhancing experience for staff, volunteers and students.
